This came out very dark on my monitor Matt but when I saved it and boosted the brightness, Wow! This has a pint like quality to it. Its a great image. I don't understand the framing choice though, it looks like it has bled from the canvas, admittedly it is my poor work monitor. What was your choice of edge treatment?

Hi Dargan
The image was meant to be very dark and heavy. I thought it lost some of its richness when I lightened it. Edge treatment was just a quick mess-around. Steps not recorded and result probably never to be repeated.

I like it Matt...
If you hadn't provided the title, it would have taken me about 5 seconds to realise what it was...
Very impressionist...

That is an interesting treatment to the straw necked ibis (not ibus). I like it.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

Whoa!
Just checked the image on my work computer and it does look slightly darker than I intended. Monitor calibration is so bloody imperative. Thanks for your comments all.

Looks good to me, my LCD is up pretty bright though so I didn't have any problems identifing the subject of the photo.
