It opened today. I saw some nice set ups (photographic) wandering around. Some big Nikons and Canons and a severe case of lense lust on my part.

Enjoy my efforts with kit lense
WW 8) PS: Yes i do realise I butchered a few shots with ISO issues.

A lot of garden beds still have not bloomed yet, so you have to pic your spots. Plenty to see though.

There are about 20 Elvis's running around there today. Shame the weather has gone ferral.

G'day Willy,

Very nice... Using the kit lens makes me feel you've done well... I have no idea at all about taking shots of flowers so please take the following ramblings as just that... Just trying to toss around ideas... :)

#1, Wonder if it might be worth trying to lighten the shadows on the left side of the flower... Background's nicely OOF and blurred.

#2, Wonder if you could select all except the main bloom and gaussian blur the backgroung a smidge?

#3, Really like this...

#4, Lovely, wonder if the red channel's clipped a smidge :?

#5, Too dark for me and the sky seems blown...

#6, This is terrific but wonder about cropping off the top where the flower bed ends and the background starts to intrude...

Oh, I just cut & paste the URLs but used the [img] tag rather than URL and seemed to work OK...

This one's [url]http://www.fototime.com/{CE781EF3-DB0A-481A-82BC-DE6E09100ED3}/picture.JPG[/url] but using [img] instead of [url]

Beautiful colours. i really liek the 3rd one, perhaps because the colours maroon and yellow compliment themselves really well. (Go Broncos!)

I love a good flower pic and there is a few in there.

Good work too. If you've got these on a website that we all can see then why not post the URL to that so we can see them all a bit easier?

Well done!!

Thanks for the feedback mudder and the rest of the guys. I will definately go back and reshoot some areas in a week or so.

I found today that the trick with the kit lens is to get down amongst the flowers. For all those walking behind me, my appologies if i was flashing a bit of arse/plumbers crack.

Man, you guys are quick off the mark. I was only at the website this afternoon deciding whether I'd go on the weekend of the 24th/25th or the week after, but there appears to be plenty of blooms out already.

Time for me to get cracking then.

Great shots by the way !

Cheers

Justin
