G'day all,
Finally got my bum into gear and made it up to Hanging Rock... Haven't been there since I was a kid and I'm sure glad I went there today...

What a stunning location... Rattled off about 100 shots (some for blending as the light was very harsh). Slept in (DAMN!) so I didn't get up there until about 9'ish so the sun was already quite high and the shadows were mean buggers :x

Still really enjoyed the day though, played for about 3-4 hours, what a wonderful location for a nice bush-walk...

Anyone interested in a mini-meet up there? I'd be in it :) Sunset shots there would be wonderful...

Anyway, these are just the first few, PP was only a few minutes each and all with the wonderful Nikkor 12-24 (and CPL). Working on some pano's of 4-9 images

I don't think I have a creative bone in my body so any critique or advice is eagerly soaked up...

Cheers.

Not sure about this one, tried merging but the shots were about 1.5 stops apart and you can tell by the foliage... I'll try merging three images and see how that goes...

Andrew

#1 - Great use of colour - the blue of the sky contrasts nicely with the green and brown foreground and the steps winding through the scene lead the eye well

#2 - Nicely brooding, almost evil - the pool of water looks like a giant eye

#3 - Not a big fan of this. Nothing strong to anchor the scene

#4 - Maybe it's time I went and saw a shrink. This I like also - I can see bodies in the rock formations

#5 - You're correct. This doesn't work

Thanks guys, I appreciate you taking the time to offer your advice and critique...

Yeah, not sure on a couple of 'em... I was just so buggered after a big day and wanted to share 'em... Lots of others but these caught my eye first... Was great fun scrambling over the rocks to get in these positions... Scared myself a couple of times  , ahh well, all part of the fun eh?

Now to play with those pano's :) Might take a while though, one of them is about 9500 x 3300 after stitching, strewth that's over 31M pixels...

Cheers.

Ooh, I love number 2. OK, so this might be a dumb question, but where exactly is Hanging Rock? We've all heard about it and I'm guessing it's in Vic!

It's at Mt Macedon about a 45min drive from Melbourne along the Calder Fwy.
