With my new toys arriving today, I was keen to try out the D70s with the Hoya close up filters. The camera, fresh out of the box, and with in camera basic settings, along with the 24-120 Nikor and +4 Hoya closeup filter, I was off the yard to try these out........both pix's are as shot with a slight exposure ajustment in ACR and a little USM when down sized both, were hand held 125 at f8.......

Nice, and looks like pretty good quality except for the color fringing at the top of the leaf-thing to the left of the bud.

thanks for pointing that out ........as stated this was a very quick test as the camera had been only out of the box for about 45 minutes.......just had a look at the original yes there is a little there, but gets more pronounced when you downsize for some reason.......

I've got the +2 and +4 BigPix, they're not bad for the money. Would prefer the Canons though

Yes, I agreed, go for the Canon 500D is a thousand miles better

the price difference between the Hoya and Cannon500D is quite a difference.

The cost of the Hoya kit, 3 filters, is about the cost of 1 Cannon 500d filter. I also brought a step up ring for $6.95us, to use the Hoya's on the kit len's..........

Nice shots BP - number 2 is a cracker! I just bought the Hoya kit myself (67mm - for the kit lens)but haven't had a chance to play with them. Blacknstormy is up me about not getting any pics posted yet but I've gotta find the right subject first!

Thought this was a cheap way to do some macro stuff.
