Heyas..

I haven't posted a photo in a while so I thought I'd check in .



I spent some time harassing this flower at my parents on the weekend. Taken with 70-300G & +1 closeup filter, stopped down to about f25. For a cheap lens it can be reasonably sharp. I still want a 105 micronikkor tho' .

at f25 it must have been a fairly long exposure - was there no wind? presumably also on a tripod? Also looks like a flash was used. I'd be interested to see more on your technique, as the result is very good

Thanks Sheepie. It was very overcast so there wasn't enough natural light to take a photo with sufficient DoF (wind etc..). I roped my brother into holding an SB800 and an umbrella off to the side so I could concentrate on the focusing and not get wet . Just handheld, no tripod. I would have liked to diffuse the flash but it wasn't powerful enough to allow for the small aperture I wanted.

this is a nicely composed and executed shot.

I use the 70-300 lens with a nikon 5t close up lens also.
(still want the 105 micro too!!)
gives good results for what it is
