Once again, great MB pics. You have certainly got it down to a fine art. I like the pano look of the pack heading over the hill.

That brown snake is a big one too. Amazing it was around such noise. They normally slither and hide. Deadly they may be but they are easily scared.

Great pics.

Yes i would have thought he might have went back from like where he came from instead of heading in the midle of the track and i guess 80 or so bikes would have got him pumped up, specially them noisey Nortons etc...

Nice pics. I especially like #4 with the reflection in the visor. I'm surprised how sharp they are with a 2x extender.

Hi John
Once again some nice shots,I'm going to a ride day at Oran Park on Monday to try the new Sigma 70-200. I hope they will turn out OK, they won't be up to your standard but I enjoy it anyway.

Sorry about this, but i have to ask...whats a teleconveter actually do??
The most secure computer in the world is one not connected to the internet. Thats why I recommend Telstra ADSL.

Nice shots. Lucky snake!

=BlackWater= wrote:Sorry about this, but i have to ask...whats a teleconveter actually do??

Teleconverters are like mini lenses which are used to increase the length of the zoom on the lens attached to them.

So a 2x Teleconverter makes the lens twice as long (ie. a 100-400 lens becomes a 200-800 lens).

Disadvantage is that the image quality is usually not as good as with a lens the intended length, and that you lose 1 stop of light with a 1.4x TC and 2 stops with a 2x TC - depending on the lens you often lose auto focus capability too...

Here's a post with some useful information regarding Canon and Sigma TCs, but the same kind of thing applies to other systems in theory...

Thanks All, Damn got myself a cold always happens change of the weather but not too worry will take me box of tissues.LOL

Jeff i am sure you will do ok with that sigma, i will use mine today at some stage.
The first 2 shots at the start line i was along way away from them and with the 2x tc i had to get further back to fit the bikes in to frame still at 600m i think is good.
Well another big day today so another slog around the track and hope i dont come accross any joe bloes.

Great shots John! Nice and sharp! Just wondering, when you shoot riders coming towards you, do you bump up the speed? I'm trying to figure out if this helps because I find the speed is a bit hard to judge. They're on top of you before you know it! Also, do you use your exposure on the shutter or exposure button? I've been using the exposure button for my auto focus and pumping the shutter button to expose, but I get the feeling this might not work so much when the shutter is held down for continous shooting. Any thoughts there, mate?
Cheers, Jase. :D

G'day,
Wow, bloody great as usual mate, sharp as and great colour... Shot #4 is great but the tussle between the front runners does it for me, great timing to get that shot...

Good stuff mate...

Great pics as always. Good to see you experiment a bit, too, with stuff like the first two which work well for me.
