G'day all,
Got up early (after a late night 8) ) and headed off to the Botanic gardens for a sticky nose, gee they're nice in the early light...

Was just about to finish up at about 09:30 (after getting there a little after 7am) when I noticed the ISO WAS STILL AT 800 after some low light animal stuff the week before!!! Some dickhead didn't check the ISO before starting, doh! Ahhh well, ya live 'n loin...

Anyway, was a beautiful walk for 2-3 hours, so relaxing, thought I'd chuck up a couple for sticky nose value...

Bloody ISO, grumble, grumble...

Cheers...

This one I re-shot at ISO200 but didn't have such nice light then, sigh...

Hiya Andy,
What an awsome day, aye?! I love the first shot. It's really inviting and makes me want to stretch out and layback on that piece of grass near the edge of the water. Sorry about the ISO mate! Sometimes you can get caught up in it all and forget the simple things. Anyway, nothing beats experiencing the day in it's true splendor! :D

I like the idea of that first one :) A little too soft on the background though (to my eyes at least!).

Looks like everyone's been getting out and about this weekend! Good to see!

I agree with waspo & sheepie, the first shot is so relaxing. BTW, I know exactly how you feel about the ISO! Went up to the summit of Mt Wellington last week to catch the last of the nice golden light from sunrise, and set up the tripod just so, and fitted the 2-bubble level to the camera, carefully adjusting the orientation for a couple of sets of 3-shot panoramas. With the polariser on, I didn't realise until I'd driven to the next car park down that the camera was still on ISO1600 from the previous night's restaurant snapshots...

Andrew

Repeat after me, I will always reset my ISO after I've changed it BEFORE I pack my gear away  . Bet we've all done that one  . I'm with the others. #1 is the pick.

Andrew, that first pic is a stunner :) Definitely one to be printed out and framed. Did you use a fill flash for the foreground flowers?
