Ideas for early morning Sydney coast pics

Postby Frankenstein on Sat Jan 13, 2007 11:33 am

I'm on leave at the moment and trying to brush away my photographic cobwebs (damn those Canadian Rockies - everything since then is so mundane  ). Anyway, I'd like to shoot some dawn/early morning stuff along Sydney's coastline (south of the harbour) - sunrise, beach, rocks, coastal pools etc. I usually do this kind of photography on the Illawarra coast, but I'd like to try some new locations.

Anyone have any suggestions for locations?

Frank, I find Coogee a nice spot, and the Bondi to Bronte walk is quite nice as well.

Down around the pool at Maroubra can be quite pretty, especially early. I live there so I go there quite bit.

South Head is nice, but as with everything dawn and dusk are the times to be there and best take a tripod. Overcast days are not so good, but moving the solstice is a bit hard so i went anyway...
