Anyone know how to make a sound trigger for my SB-800?!! Seen some circuit board diagrams on the net, but they are all Greek to me!!

I can build some simple circuits Taro.... do you have a link to the circuits ?

Sound triggers for flash units work better if you are using more than one flash e.g.: to try and stop movement........ Edit: You will need a number of flash units and need to start then firing before the sound and during as sound moves......... unless you are shooting animals outside, then it is a bit different, as I think they can be set off with the breaking of an invisable beam or vibration ........ units are available to do this...........

try here for more info, as google is your friend.......

Interesting... I've been planning to build something like this too.
I'm going to combine the photogate and delay circuits off the same site.

The tape recorder sound trigger should be an easy solution.

I would find a VOX circuit and modify it...

What is the voltage level for the trigger, is it just a normal TTL (Not through the lens....) trigger?

Can you trigger an SB-600 or 800 the same way as old flash units? Just short circuit the two trigger pins?

Taro I'm currently sourcing and pricing all the parts required. :)
Depending on what sort of packaging we use, I think $10-15 dollars is a good idea of the final cost.
