I lived in the Mountains for about 5 years when I was younger, and my Dad still lives up there.

Lilianfels is in a nice spot.

Many places in the mountains to take some nice photos, but it helps if you like to go for a bit of a walk.

Rob

Congratulations to you and your partner. Does this mean the 200-400VR is a wedding present from you to your partner or did its purchase just recede when you found out how much the wedding bill would be :D

i would get a divorce before giving up my 200-400 as any man would ! the wedding bill was supposed to be small, thats why we were having it in sydney but now her mom and dad are going and my sister and her family are talking of going... so im still hoping for a small party

I'll have a chat to my dad about good spots, but Valley of the Waters and most of the walks surrounding Wentworth Falls and the Conservation hut spring to mind. But there are a huge number, and I've not done that many of them and never with an eye to photography.

Very soon, Gary and Leigh are working on it, hopefully by next week.
We will "screw" Gary tomorrow at the meet

Rob, it's wonderful news you're getting hitched.

With your 200-400, you definitely have to go to Bondi. :D

As for the Blue Mtns, as Pippin mentioned around Wenty Falls are fairly easily accessible and beautiful. If you wander down a lesser known track, you'll have all the privacy and seclusion you could want. Have 'pitchers' of another nature. ;)

The Koala Park in Carlingford or Featherdale Wildlife in Doonside are more photogenic alternatives to the more well known Taronga Zoo.
Harbour cruise - must do. Either across the harbour from Circular Quay to Manly wharf or along the Parramatta river.

The submarine races off Garden Island might be worth a look

Stay well clear of :!: :!: :!:

This has got to be the worst tourist attraction in Sydney.... Very old, very run down and VERY hard to see koalas (other than the ones the handlers are holding).

Save your money for another night in the mountains.

Congrats Robw.

I would rate Birddy's place as a must see for any Nikon photographer.

The Harbour Bridge and Opera House are also pretty good.
