Hi Jeremy,

I have a ticket for Sydney which may give me a possible obstructed view for $99
I hope its going to be allright.
I sort of grew up with his music and saw him in Germany (last century :) )
I'm still umming and aahing if I should try to smuggle the D200 with a 50mm 1.8 to the concert.

Cheers,

I'll be there! will try to bring my gear, but i don't think 105mm on crop body will be long enough to take any good pics.

Hope i will not be turned away with camera gear in my bag.

I wouldn't if it is the promoters policy to restrict cameras. Just go and enjoy the show.

Well I checked the venue rulls on cameras, and it said "NO PHOTOS" so i didn't take anything with me. And it was very funny to see more then half of the areana light up with back of P&S cameras and all of them were filming not shooting! Oh well, it was a good concert. The only thing i cannot remmeber is the name of the openning act. She was good! and I loved the guitar impro when Santana got her to play with him on stage. She looked scared until he started jamming with her.

Good time, and got to see 3 photogs up front of stage working. two canons with 70-200s and on Nikon i think.

Yes there are signs at the venue saying "No Commercial Photography" allowed.
I also noticed the three photographers shooting away busily at the front of the stage.
Were they using something like a 70-200m equivalent or problably or perhaps more a 28-70mm lens ?
I was quite happy with my seat but had to leave before the end - I couldn't handle how load it was.
Bummer, I thought the show was very very good - when did they finish ?
From now on I will take earpluggs to concerts, just in case.

Regards,
CD
