Sydney Christmas Get Together

Here's the deal.
This year, we're going to have a nice, friendly, casual get together at the home of Sheepie and Manda. It's all organised for Saturday December 13, (choosing a restaurant is always a hassle) and the more astute amongst you will note that this is the second Saturday of a second month, in keeping with our newly adopted 2x2 principles.
"What time?" I hear you say ...
2pm, of course, till latte! (Noting the penchant for coffee amongst some of us).
As well as the 2 x 2 x 2, there will be S x S x S, and hopefully a zero charge; we need to see the numbers first.
So, we can gather, take photos (maybe we'll run a workshop or two) and just enjoy the tidings and good will of the season. I'm hopeful that we will have some gifts for y'all too. Those who feel they have over-indulged will be able to sleep over at the Sheepies' too.
Please indicate your intention to attend in this thread.
And a very big thank you to Manda and Leon for their generous hospitality.

Not too bad - it's a couple of km from the nearest station (Revesby), but we should be able to get someone to do a pickup run if required. Buses run from the station past here, about hourly on the weekends I think. Can sort that stuff closer to the time

Can you suggest a better way to address that situation?
(Take that as a yes).
There will be more information on this event over the weekend. Leon is in the process of preparing an update for y'all.

The novelty will wear off. Give it a couple of months, and it'll be SWMBO

She Who Must Be Obeyed.
I should add that to the acronym list that the new portal has given us.

Rod,
So, where's the problem?
Just pack everyone off into one of your company vehicles and bring 'em along.
Seriously, family is important; nobody will suggest that you're making the incorrect decision here.

If anyone wants to learn how to clean their CCD...I'll have some gear with me and show you the ropes. Because of the small numbers requesting it the Photoshop Tute will be casual and brief.

I'd in for both
don't need to clean the CCD, but learning how to do it never hurts!
Thanks!

I am still trying to decide whether I play cricket (too many games of which I have missed already this season) or attend the Christmas GT at Leon's. I haven't been to a DSLRUsers meet proper for what seems like a very long time, but I am also trying to crack 100 wickets this summer (unfortunately, it would be career aggregate, not season aggregate).

I think my D300 needs a clean so I am in for it.
BTW what should I bring for that, or should I attend the workshop before heading out to buy cleaning gear?

Alcohol.
Single malt, bourbon, tequila, or a nice red are all able to be used through the cleaning process.
No, I'm not suggesting one of each.
Or maybe I am.

Pec Pads and Eclipse E2 fluid is all you need. You can get it from Vanbars in Newtown. I'll make up a spatula for you.
Cheers! Make sure your cameras battery is fully charged.

YES...But you should be able to buy a pack of 100 Pec Pads for around $25. That would last you 5 years. Try NULAB in Melbourne...if they are still in business.

Got myself some E2 ($18.70) and some pec pads ($16.50 for 100 pack) from van bar. Will E2 work with the S5 Pro???
EDIT** Just checked and it doesn't, it takes Eclipse! But apparently E2 can be used on non ITO sensors HLP!!!!
