4 Tall Ships in Harbour next Sunday

Next Sunday there are four tall ships sailing from Pyrmont, under the bridge, down the harbour and out through the heads for the day.

Christian (CD) and I have booked on one of the ships (the Svanen) so we'll hopefully have lots of nice shots on our return.

For those who aren't sailing, this will present a good photo op since all 4 ships are sailing "in company" which I gather is shipping talk for together. We have to be boarded by 10 am so I guess they'll depart soon after. The ships are due back at Pyrmont at 5pm.

As Matt.K mentioned earlier, if no wind then the tall ships won't arrive at 5:00PM and you guys have to swim back to shore with the 70-200VR as a PFD.

If I have to use the 70-200 as a PFD I'll need gills

Stubbsy, I am sure they will let you break out the oars  I have seen those old roman movies where they whip the slaves as they row :)

Hi Stubbsy,

are we going to be shaken but not stirred on Sunday ?
Are we going to be affected by the tail end of cyclone Ingrid ?

Cheers

CD,
Just boarding the tall ship without the camera and your gear  the gear won't last once they're submerged in saltwater.

Birddog114,

what's the point ?
We want to get salty !
Do you remember Procul Harum: Salty Dog ?
Any way, I'm intending to have a trip of a lifetime WITH D70 and gear on the tall ship on Sunday.

Cheers

Stubbsy and CD in Sydney

Hi girls and guys,

Stubbsy and I are going to be in Sydney for the Tall Ships sailing in company on Sunday.
I was wondering if there was a chance of doing something with you people on Saturday afternoon ?
I'm probably going to be pretty stuffed by then if I manage to attend the 4am VR meeting at Birddog's but I also don't get to Sydney that often.
So if you have any ideas that tolerate me falling asleep and potentially snoring, now is the time to tell.
I won't have a chance to follow the forum tomorrow so call me on 0411 484 238 if there is anything to be aware of.

Cheers
