That last bump got me, ouch
For me, I'd probably do the 2nd day, since I've done the Stockton beach twice, and I think I will only be able to manage a day pass
Keep us posted,
Thanks,
Radar.

The second day workshop, I'm aiming to the inland as Tanilba Bay, Hawk Nest, or a walk thru Tomaree National Parks, or boarding the ferry to Tea Garden for a day trip, having lunch at Tea Garden and back to Nelson Bay in the afternoon.

Birddy - I might have a problem. Both my Camera and Kit Lens are in at Maxwells.
Would it be possible for me to borrow a D70 and Kit Lens (or similar) for the Saturday to shoot with? I could just bring my own CF.

Hi Birdy,
Mrs. Leek, mini-Leek and I would like to attend... I'm not familiar with the area - can you make any recommendations for local accommodation???
We don't have a 4WD, so will be dependent upon seats in someone elses truck...

John
Best value spot is
Birubi Beach Caravan Park or
One Mile Beach Holiday Park. You can get a cabin that would fit the three of you for not too much $$$. Alternatively there are LOT's of B & Bs. Look for Boat Harbour, Anna Bay and Birubi Point. More details

As stubbsy mentioned, heaps of accomodation around those areas, google them or search at Port Stephens.
I'll be upthere for a day, might pop in few places and inquire for you if you want to. If you found one, just call me on my mobile and I'll cancel it.

Deb,
it's all the rage over in Europe
Once Birddog gets a sight of my G-string, he'll be getting HKSupplies to ship them down to Australia and offering them for sale in the "Bargain" section.

That depends on how big you want the logo to be and whether it is a hot day or a cold day

For the first day do we have enough 4WD - as best as I can tell there is only 1 (yours), but well over that in numbers.
For the first day we have
- birddog + family
- Andrew & Vicki (huynhie)
- Stubbsy
Second day
- birddog + family
- Andrew & Vicki (huynhie)
- Stubbsy
- Andre
Possibles: killa & lostdingo
Edit: removed John + family
Edit: removed Nick & Ann
Some possible locales for the second day:
- Nelson Bay to Tea Gardens on the ferry (about 3 hours all up unless we catch the ferry straight back rather than wait for the next one)
- Nelson bay lookout (30 mins tops - could be done on the way to somewhere else)
- Shortland wetlands (better after lunch or a 9 am start)
- Stockton + Newcastle foreshore
- Hunter valley vineyards & flower garden (but will be VERY busy)

Another possible locale for a visit on the Sunday is the
Hunter Region Botanic Gardens which is reasonably close to the bay (between Hexham and Raymond Terrace on the Pacific Highway)

Really, really, really sorry about this, but we're going to have to pull out of this long weekend trip...
We've just found out that the next phase of our building project is about to start moving, so we will need the long weekend to do some packing / rearranging in the house...
Sorry about that Birdy... I was looking forward to it too...
See you tomorrow...

Ann can't come again, got some family do on in Sydney.
I also left all my other gear in Sydney, and I've had an offer for some work, so I shan't be coming either.
Sorry about that, though it'll make the 4WD situation easier.
Have a good venture.

Hi Birddog,
should still be okay with me for the Sunday. Just need to let me know where it's going to happen.
From Stubbsy's suggestions, I'm happy with any of the choices.
Cheers,
Radar

How many people do we have for our Saturday night dinner.
I'll be picking up some meat before I leave on Saturday so I just need to know some numbers.

Not many as you've seen, not much interests from members on this board, my guess!

I dont mind,
If we go the BBQ route then I'll stop at my butcher before we leave Sydney.
Otherwise we can outsource our dinner to a resturant on Saturday night.
What is everyone happy with?
