Looks like I'm staying down there after the mini meet then. So that's a yes.

Real soon now I might have a lull in my schedule where I spend the weekend at home

Stubbsy,

you might as well bite the bullet and move down here. I believe the house next to Birddogs is up for sale.

Yes a tripod will be best since you'll have the opportunity to do some long exposures. There's a strong chance you can borrow one given you're coming all this way. Would be a shame for you to miss out and you'll have some great shots to take home.

Ben... I can lend you a REALLY crappy Velbon tripod...

It does the job, but is not ultra stable... Unfortunately it also makes a horrible squeaking noise every time you move it, but I can give it a blast of WD-40 before you use it...

It has a narrow thread fitting on the "head" suitable for screwing into the D70 body...

For this coming Saturday night shooting, I have the names in the following list:

Leek,
Matt.K
Leigh
Hilop
Jeko70
Killakoala
Stubbsy
Birddog114

Anyone has the idea where do you want or where the meeting point is?

We might have a decision of the meeting point at the mini meet on Saturday 8/10/05

If anyone would like to try out the Benro tripods and heads, please let me know so I can arrange those available.

Jini,

First of all welcome.

Now aside from the welcome, this is the wrong thread to do a welcoming on.

If you want to start a topic talking about yourself and get all the welcoming you can muster, advice, etc, click here to start a new topic in the General Discussion section.

Otherwise, this thread's about a night shoot next Saturday night.
If you have an interest in participating, please do so by commenting here, else post in a different thread.

I may not be at the mini-meet on Saturday, so thought I'd throw a few ideas in the ring... I'll go with what the majority of people decide...

My preference would be for the area between Kirribilli & Lavender Bay... Easy parking + no drunks + a wealth of things to photograph... Bridge, Opera House, City skyline, Luna Park, North Sydney... I know that it's been done before, but I think it would be hard to find so many different things to shoot in one area...

Very open to other suggestions though... If I don't attend the mini-meet, could someone post the arrangements up on the forum on Sat. afternoon, so that I know where to meet people...

WOW,,,

I really want to go there, but I don't have any camera.
Before 2months ago, My camera was stolen by thief.
So I want to buy D70 and I'll go outside for one of the best photograph.

And I'm not a Aussie speaker
I'm one of the Korean and n I have been in Australia about 3months.
So my english is poor.

Does anybody can teach photography for me?
It will improve my photography and also my english.

Anyway ~ What I NEED to do first is purchase D70 from Birddog.
Sorry I don't know your name.
After that, I can join.

English is interesting for me, but it's not easy for me.

HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYBODY~

What about Hyde Park, St. Mary Cathedral and surrounding area? Another point - Pyrmont Bay Wharf - good view to the city from the other side. Technicaly, we can start from Pyrmont Bay Wharf, then go through Darling Harbour and then visit to Hyde park if we'd like
