replacement tripod collar foot for 70 - 200VR lens

Postby rookie2 on Tue Jul 31, 2007 11:16 pm

I have lost the tripod collar foot for my 70 -200 Vr

I have emailed and phoned Nikon Oz for replacement cost but heard nothing back

I have also heard good things about the Kirk LP-45 (US$75++) or the RRS LCF10 (US$110++).

any preferences from our good members here? I know Fozzie uses the latter and gives it a thumbs up.

Do both of these fit straight onto my existing Manfrotto QR plate?

Is there a pending order with RRS from the forum that I could add to.

any help appreciated.

cheers

R2 - if you check out Kirk they do not make a collar for the 70-200VR and RRS, I believe, do not have them either.

That’s if I’m reading your post correctly.

The other parts you mention are for Arca/Swiss connections and not Manfrotto. Again, not sure if these people cater to Manfrotto or not.

thanks Chris but like you identifying the correct part was difficult for me

I actually meant a replacment FOOT that actually slides onto the VRs collar
as shown here for the RRS

and here for the Kirk http://www.kirkphoto.com/alllpplates.html

try explaining it over the phone sometime!!

cheers

OK then..do I have to go the whole hog and kit out a new ballhead and plate.

If so what would you suggest as I am looking at doing this anyway as my Manf mono and ballhead are struggling (along with me) now that I have the D200, grip, VR and TC17 loaded up. (Im aware of a couple of previous threads here)

I actually shot freehand with VR off on sunday and got lots more keepers of my lads footy so with a better mono set up, my sports pics should really pick up with lots more practice.

cheers and thanks

I use the Markins M20 and others have the RRS but there are also many others using the Benro with great results and they are a lot cheaper than the two aforementioned units.

Check out the bargain section for pricing
