good place to purchase a sb-800

Postby obzelite on Tue Apr 04, 2006 8:22 pm

anyone suggest a good place to get a sb-800.

ebay seems to be 420ish for something from hongkong, 500ish from australia and the local digital camera house place told me with a straight face $860 for the sb800 and $645 for the sb600.

anyone know of a store that is cheap, or would it be best for me to wait till i hit england or europe in 6 weeks, although the dollar is taking another dive and i may have to change my currency to pesos before i leave.

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

Simon,

Have you tried Birdy (Birddog 114)? His prices are very cheap and he is 100% reliable.

Cheers

Birdymart is the absolute best place to shop for all things photographic (and I suspect just about anything else... ;) ). Superb service from a genuinely nice guy.

you've got more than 50 posts, have you PMed a mod to be added to the members list?

thank you, wil have to bookmark that thread.

think i may need to be more specific when i use the search, i always seem to get 50 pages of crap with everything that seems to be the direct opposite of what i search for.

Simon: the search feature on this board is completely retarded in that a space is interpreted as 'OR' rather than 'AND'. If you want to search for the terms shutter and flash, you have to type "shutter AND flash" (without the quotes). Simply typing "shutter flash" returns the result from "shutter OR flash", i.e. any post that has either word in it.

either that or select the radio button for "find all terms". Either way it's not a particularly friendly search engine.

That would explain why 'sb 800 price' listed half the posts every made.

again thanks for the help.

Simon, I would also second Birddog, competitive international pricing with local support, best of both worlds. It's where I got my SB800 from
