Digital snapshot printing - inner Sydney

Postby Justin on Wed Oct 11, 2006 1:57 pm

Hi all,

Kodak online won't do better than 39 cents per even if I want to print 500 photos - that sucks!

Any recommendations (today please) where I can drop a CD and get 500 prints? these are for a photo album, so I don't need super high quality.

I've heard harvey norman is good, but do you have to do it yourself or do they run the order?

Thanks!

HVN run the order. I told them I dont trust the consumer machine at the front as I heard it alters the colour, so the dude did it for me, bypassing the DIY machine. Turned out great. This was at Gordon.

Havent tried HN yet, did a 250pics (4x6) print from BigW looong ago, gave them the disk for direct process (no running through the kiosk machines), results came out good. Cost about 15~17c each I think...

Justin,

I have used QFL ( They seem to have changed their name http://www.metrophoto.com.au/ to MetroPhoto) for doing bulk prints and have had great results. They are currently offer 13c prints.

I have used these guys about 5 times now. Sometimes uploading the images via their website but I have also dropped in a CD to a collection point. If your looking at printing 500 then I'd drop the CD off in store. This will take a day to sent to MetroPhoto / get printed and come back. I'd say 3 days in total. If your in a hurry then you could upload via the internet if you have a good connection.

Basically they operate via chemist etc. you can do a search for a store near you, I'm sure there will be one handy.

Cheers
Warwick

thanks for all the responses and pms - what we managed to do was take what ended up being 900 photos to our local store and negotiated using your feedback here the whole lot for just over $200.

Thanks!
