Review - Research Expert Infotech before making a purchaseI preface this by saying on this occasion I AM STUPID and big lesson learnt.
It is the first time I have not typed "review company name" into Google before making a purchase. I made a purchase $5K worth of gear Monday 21 March. Payment made by direct transfer. Tuesday I received an email saying all my items ordered were "out of stock" and they wanted to issue me a refund. When I checked their website they were still showing in stock and surprise surprise each item had gone up in price around approx $300 each. I then typed "review expert infotech" and found a Whirlpool thread and immediately started to worry. After allot of stuffing around and multiple phonecalls to NZ I got my refund yesterday. Morale of the story (lesson learnt for me) check reviews of online businesses. On a positive note I ended up ordering from techrific.com.au on Wednesday 23rd March and it was delivered Friday. Great communication with them and will buy from them again. They are grey imports drop shipped from HK or Sing (cant remember) but every piece of camera gear I have purchased over the last 5 years has been grey. As for Expert Infotech - avoid them like the plague. Last edited by Chaase on Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:45 am, edited 2 times in total.

Re: Review - Avoid Expert Infotech like the plagueThanks for the headsup. Great to hear that you got your money back. Things could have been much uglier!
There are a few companies trusted with their gray stuff. I generally avoid the others especially you are only saving a few pennies by going with them anyways.
Re: Review - Avoid Expert Infotech like the plagueThanks for the warning. I was tempted to buy a D3X from them, lucky I did not go ahead. Like Surenj says it is worth paying a little more and buy local. Although sometimes you wonder... I bought my D3s, 24 pc and 70-200 from ECS and every time I feel as if I was bothering them, pick up your stuff and go .

Yes buying Grey is very tempting, but I agree, when there is little saving then going local is better. Glamy, come visit us at Foto Riesel, we usually manage to match ECS but you shouldnt feel like your bothering us! Cameron
