Lens 105 mm AISHi
Just curious , how good is the nikkor 105mm f1.8 Ais manual forcus, anyone here have used this old lens, IQ and can it be used on the Fuji S2 ( Nikon F mount), and what is the average price for a new one . Regards

According to Bjorn Roeslett.
This is a very good lens. However I assume that the Fuji F2 will treat it the same as a D70 or D70s i.e. it must be used in manual mode - no metering, manual focus. I use some AIs lenses on my D70s. You just need judgement and view the LCD screen histogram to get the exposure right. You can find these lenses ocassionally on Ebay. Since they are are up to 25 years old therefore you must be carefull getting a good one. see http://www.naturfotograf.com/index2.html for Bjorn's evaluations.
