Lens 105 mm AIS

Lens 105 mm AIS

Hi

Just curious , how good is the nikkor 105mm f1.8 Ais manual forcus, anyone here have used this old lens, IQ and can it be used on the Fuji S2 ( Nikon F mount), and what is the average price for a new one .

According to Bjorn Roeslett.
This is a very good lens.
However I assume that the Fuji F2 will treat it the same as a D70 or D70s
i.e. it must be used in manual mode - no metering, manual focus.
I use some AIs lenses on my D70s. You just need judgement and view the LCD screen histogram to get the exposure right.
You can find these lenses ocassionally on Ebay. Since they are are up to 25 years old therefore you must be carefull getting a good one.

Hi

Thank for fast reply, I ask because there is new in box one for sale very expensive at US$430 , I bought thing from the seller before so he email me let me know that he got this lens for sale, and i did not know anything about this lens , look like a good one by looking at the picture of Redline and it has rating of 5 on the d2x and 4.5 on F4 on Bjørn Rørslett.Sure it will be usefull with the D2X and for collector
