How to tell how many shots a camera (d70) has taken?

Newer members often state that they think their question is too basic, or stupid, or whatever, to be posted. Nothing could be further further from the truth in any section at DSLRUsers.com, but especially here. Don't feel intimidated. The only stupid question is the one that remains unasked. Thanks for that. Gee there are a large number of posts here. I was searching on a number of things, but if I'd known about Exif, i might have stood a chance.

I was having a problem with the program in that I couldnt actually see any information. But it was because I wasn't viewing a photo at the time.

Can see my shutter count now .... 1649

Its a baby. I must lucked my way into a good second hand buy

If I shoot NEF, how do I view the EXIF info?

I normally use PaintShopPro to process my images and it appears it doesn't preserve the MakerInfo. What packages will?

Thanks.

4430 in 17 months.

Next month, on my dive trip, I expect to be taking 100-150 per dive, with 4 dives per day for 5.5 days - 2200 to 3,300!
