Transferring images back onto my flash card

Is it possible for me to transfer images from my pc back onto my flash card successfully? I want to print some images, and I have a nifty little printer here I want to try out, and I can't hook the printer up to the pc, but it will take my flash card.

Yep, no worries. I use my flash cards as removable storage for playing in my DVD player all the time.

Ok next stupid question, how do I go about doing it. I thought it would be as easy as copying and pasting, but that option doesnt seem to be available. And YES I'm blonde!

sunnylass I would think that clicking and dragging should work for you.

Just be sure to reformat the card when you put it back into the camera. That way you will avoid any problems.

I tried clicking and dragging, didnt work. I have other issues now though, that I'm going to have to work out first.

are you trying in a seperate card reader or with the card in the camera?

Also remember that your camera might not be able to 'see' the images after you have transferred them to the card. This is especially the case if you have edited them, even slightly. This can sometimes happen when you copy them to your computer, unbeknownst to you.

I can't even transfer them from the computer to the camera, I've tried just about everything I can think of.

I'm going to give up for now, maybe with a fresh start in the morning, and poking my tongue out the right way, it will play nicely

Sunnylass, just buy a card reader, probably $20 if not less. I am not even sure you can transfer back to the camera, with the card reader no problems. I think most of the answers above assumed you used a card reader, almost everyone does.

It is also faster and less wear and tear on your camera.

I've only just recently bought a dvd burner.

Which camera are you using and which computer operating system? Also why cant you hookup the printer to PC? Are they just physically separated or are you having trouble installing the printer?

Hi rah, I have a Canon 400D. I ended up managing to hook the little printer up.

Look out world, I now have a card reader too! Gawd, I could be dangerous soon

Some cameras have settings allowing it to be used as a card reader that was all.

Also the printer is a card reader so was thinking you probably didn't need a separate card reader if you were going to hook that up.

There's a setting deep in the camera's menu: PTP or mass storage. Select the other one; then plug in your camera to the computer and see if it makes any difference in the ability to copy files over to the flashcard.

yeah my d200 jsut plugs in as a mass storage device. i often use it to transfer files between my computers.
