Calibrating monitors, is there a free and easy way?

Newer members often state that they think their question is too basic, or stupid, or whatever, to be posted. Nothing could be further further from the truth in any section at DSLRUsers.com, but especially here. Don't feel intimidated. The only stupid question is the one that remains unasked. If you are doing prints you will need printfix as well to profile your printer. I think Spyder Pro2 and Printfix are bundled together on some sites

This only applies though if you are printing at home right?

Am I right in thinking that if I get my prints done at a lab all I should need is the Spyder?

in a word YES........ but if you have a very old monitor there will not be much of a visual change

big pix PS: I do print at home and it helps if you use the correct printer dirvers for your printer and paper profiles. Espon profiles work for me but I also have an espon printer and only use espon inks.

cheers
