Was wondering if there was any way to speed up the 3fps "burst mode"on a D70? I am (as I have said many a time) STILL waiting on enough cash to get my d70, but am curious if that is possible
In the future I would like to take shots like this one....
...and pretty sure 3fps would not cut it. I realise that I have a LONG road to get to this level, but would like to know if the d70 is capable of getting it's rate up higher that 3fps, without me having to look at an insanely priced higher end dslr?
Any one got any thoughts
Am I just dreaming

I havent used the burst mode to achieve anything like this but I would say that the D70 would be able to handle it. You're probably going to have quite a fast shutter speed on that due to the overall brightness of the pic so 3fps for 3 seconds would give you 9 different positions.
I think

I would have though to get this shot you would have to get it in a rapid burst of continuous shooting Ie: get each one as a photo and then layer them in PS. I don't understand how to do it in PS, but sure I can learn.
My question is about the rate of shots that would be needed, and if there is any way to get the d70 to do this, and not so much the post processing issue.
Thanks for the reply though, any idea on that thread (out of curiosity) anyway

The D2Hs body is about 4.7 x cost of the D70 body only
The D2x body is about 6.1/2 x cost of the D70 body only
Based on the cost of D70 body only, Grey Import

Gee Birddog, you certainly know how to soften the blow. Glad you didn't give me the real numbers...
Let's just say, if we where playing poker, I would have well and truely folded by now
I was just hoping that the d70 might be able to achive the 5fps as other cameras in the similiar range (the new Canon 20D for example - I know, I just uttered the evil word ).
Just be nice, as it is the one thing that I wish the d70 could do. Don't get me wrong, I'm still all for the Nikon

rahudman, make sure you have long exp NR option turned OFF on your D70 to realise the full 3FPS. Otherwise you may be artificially restricted to a maximum of 1.5FPS and not know it.
