Sensor cleaning

Newer members often state that they think their question is too basic, or stupid, or whatever, to be posted. Birddog, with the D2X can you confirm if the optional AC powerpack must be purchased to clean the CCD? Is there a way around it in a "pinch" or is that not advisable?

Not neccessary with the AC adapter, setting it in BULB mode and do it as I did with the D100/ D2h/ D2x.
