Hi all,
Just wondering if someone could advise about the nice frames you see around some photos that get posted. Is this a photoshop plug in, or a Nikon Capture plugin?
thanks

It would be Photoshop that does them cool frames. You can use something like Gimp, a poor mans Photoshop (free but not really in the same league), to do frames.

Hi Trevor
if you have photoshop, try looking
here.
This is a place where you can download frames and actions that others have made.

Most are done using Photoshop actions (eg I use Mike's Invariant Frame text action). For example look at the frame section at Action Central (
Edit: Damn you Dave you beat me.
PS for Trevor - don't go too complex. Simple frames work, but if they're too fancy they can distract from the image

I think a lot of the frames as Peter pointed out distract from the actual image being presented. Keep it simple, a single color (no more than 25px around the edge), or two color frame is all that is really needed. Ones that are trying to replicate a frame that you hang on the wall to me are over the top. Why imitate a real frame when you can print and hang it on the wall .
