Lets say I have a D70, an SB-800, and an old non-nikon flash.

How do I go about conecting them all together?
I was thinking an SC-28 between the D70 and SB-800. But what about the old flash? Th old flash also has an old style sync plug.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks,
Brad

What's other brand non Nikon flash?
I don't think you can triggerring other flash with SB800 or the inbuilt flash of the D70.

I don't think there's another simple or economical way to help you to fire both the SB800 and the old non Nikon flash.

Unless, you invest some good $$$$$ into the Pocket Wizard system.

While the SB800 has a pc synch socket oin the side, it seems to be wired up as a slave, rather than a master.

But I'd just grab an optical trigger for this. Set everything up on the old fashoined A mode, and you're in business.

Someone correct me if this is wrong/stupid.

Using the following parts:

SC-28
SC-26
AS-15 (pic below)
Image

SC-28 attaches to camera.
AS-15 onto SC-28 hotshoe
Metz attaches to AS-15 via PC sync cord

Attach SB-800 to SC-28 via SC-26

You could hook the Metz to the D70 and put the SB-800 in SU-4 mode to fire wirelessly. Manually set the amount of flash on the Metz and the SB-800. A flash meter makes determining the amount of flash required and aperture settings much easier, but it can be done with a couple of test shots and looking at the histogram. This is really only an option for a studio setup.

For something quicker/easier/simpler you might want to invest in (or borrow) another SB-600/800.

That what I wanted to say or invest in a new SU800 and another SB 600 or 800.

Only problem is I would like both flashes off camera.

You could hook the Metz up to the D70 via a cable. Alternatively you can pick up an optical trigger for the Metz. It still manual only tho'.
