Hand straps????????????????

Looking for a hand strap instead of the long "rope" that the d 70 comes with, I like to have the camera close to my hand even when not in use for security and danger of bashing it against something if it was swinging wildly on the rope. Can anyone recogmend a comfortable strap and where to get it or have a few pics of one would be even better. Thanks Stephen

Stephen,
I don't think the ordinary hand strap (as seen on may D70) will work well with the D2h, you may try it at the meet, if you're happy with it then I may find you one.

How's about this type? buy and cut it to suit your style?

Stephen. I had my D70 Optech grip strap on my D2x at the weekend. It works just like it did on the D70 and felt comfortable etc. BUT I've decided to remove it. With the strap in place rotating the camera to take portrait shots and use the second set of buttons and dials there for that purpose is next to impossible. That was a deal breaker for me. So I'm sticking to just using my D70 Optech Pro Loop strap.

Why is everybody raving about the OpTech straps? Are they that really good???

I still use my D70 strap, going good, but not at its best, so I wonder whats so special about the optechs...

Well, because you haven't seen or use it.

Lot of D70/ D2 owners on this site have it and it's great with your camera body in handling and providing more comfy than the stock.

I still have 5 brand new stock (Nikon) straps and never put them in my cameras at the first place.

they are :-)

The optech straps make a big difference when you have your camera around your neck for a few hours. As birddog said, once you try one, you won't use the standard Nikon strap anymore.

Cheers,

André

the Op/tech straps are brilliant - the padded goodness means that they are really really comfy, and distribute the weight really well. Plus the Pro Loop versions attach to the camera using flexible loops, so they just fall out of the way easier when you have your camera in portrait orientation.

Another handy feature is that you can detach the strap part and connect the two short loose ends together, like a little hand strap.

The Nikon strap that came with my D70s is now gathering dust.

You based in Ashfiled?
Ashfield - Belmore = Ashfield - CBD or may be closer.

It is covered on this website as 'PRO LOOP STRAP' and coloured green:

http://www.optechusa.com/product/detail ... EGORY_ID=4

Although it has the D70Users.com logo on it, in stead of the 'OP/TECH' logo.

It will also pack away in a bag with limited space :)
