view area - help!

i was trying to do the bracketing a while ago as am a newbie user of d70s, i noticed that the focus area has change - into

i think it should be like this

the mode dial is in M, A, S, P and Auto.... but when i put it on the preset...it doesnt appear. even i change the AF-area mode... that focus is on the right side shown on the 1st image. how can i return the focus area back to center? i appreciate the help...thanks in advanced. -neil[/img]

Neil

You move the focus area using the round directional control to the right of the rear display. While viewing a shot press it in the direction you wish to move the focus (eg in this case press the left)

This is nothing to do with bracketing. It's the selction of which focus point you'll be using, when you're not using the closest focussing method.

Use the thumb pad on the back of your camera to select the various points; select the one that is the one where you want your lens to be focussed.

For instance, if you're shooting in portrait mode, with the RH side of your camera raised, the rightmost point illustrated in your post would in fact be uppermost, and it would also be somewhere near the eyes in a person's face were that your subject.

Got panicked, I was reviewing the manual but cant locate how to solve it…anyway...many many thanks to you guys. more power! -neil
