How to tell how many shots a camera (d70) has taken?

sorry, but i tried searching.
Is there a way to find out how many photos a nikon d 70 has taken ?
people say the amount in their for sale ads. But are these just approximations ?

Thanks for that. Gee there are a large number of posts here. I was searching on a number of things, but if I'd known about Exif, i might have stood a chance.

I was having a problem with the program in that I couldnt actually see any information. But it was because I wasn't viewing a photo at the time.

Can see my shutter count now .... 1649

Its a baby. I must lucked my way into a good second hand buy

what abt canon.. I hv the opanda exif viewer but it doesnt show me the shutter count for my 350D?

I dont think the 350D records the shutter release in their EXIF... somebody pls confirm?

If I shoot NEF, how do I view the EXIF info?

I normally use PaintShopPro to process my images and it appears it doesn't preserve the MakerInfo. What packages will?

4430 in 17 months.

Next month, on my dive trip, I expect to be taking 100-150 per dive, with 4 dives per day for 5.5 days - 2200 to 3,300!
