Diver_neil,

nothing will happen to it, the D70s will still continue to take photos, get out there and take more photos, more pixels will not make you a better photographer

The problem is not your D70s, but.....
The camera market!

Think about people get into their hands a new-old D200!

.......Entry level Sony has a 10.2mp, Canon 8 mp and Nikon.......?

It's more a market decision more than a camera s Issue.
