Howdy all,

New to this site, have been reading a few threads (the one about the Sony alpha was interesting). I look forward to joining in the general (and specific) discussions.

I have a D200, a few lenses, a couple of Metz guns, etc.

I was referred here by, I think, Sheepie when I chatted with him at the Aroma coffee festival.

A couple of my photos from the festival have been posted on the Crema Magazine site (http://www.cremamagazine.com.au) as well as a few of my general coffee related pics in the Pics/Fun Stuff section of that site (my user name is Reschsmooth, as it is here).

Cheers

P

Hi, and welcome.

Sheepie mentioned that you might drop by; please enjoy the resource that we share here, and above all, remember to have fun.

Welcome Reschsmooth - u will love it here. I do and I've been here since the humble beginnings of the place :)

You will find a wealth of info, some extremely talented people and some of the friendliest folks on earth.

As an aside - it is our 3 year anniversary of the forum's beginnings this coming weekend where there are numerous activities to attend.

I see you live in Crows Nest, on Sunday I have organised a Picnic/photoshoot/brunch at little Manly Point - if you're keen to attend and introduce yourself to us send me a pm and I will forward you on more details.

Enjoy your time here : :D

Welcome! Nice to see you've come along for a look - we'll have to have a coffee sometime ;)

Make yourself at home and don't be shy. They're generally a nice bunch around here!

Thanks for the welcome guys - I expect this place will be a lot like others I go to which seem to have a common point of view: "Thanks for coming, sorry about your wallet".

Unfortunately, I think, my wife has a similar interest in photography, so she is more than understanding when it comes to me buying gear, which leads me to another cliche (I have more cliches than you can poke a stick at): "Forgiveness is easier to get than permission".

I will get back to you about Sunday, although could be a possibility (I have a 'wedding' to go to on Sat night at a pub in Balmain, so not sure what shape I will be in on Sunday! 8) )

Cheers

Patrick

You're not sure what state you'll be in? geeze, we have an anniversary dinner to go to, and I know what state I'll be in for the morning!!! It probably won't be pretty!

I think we'll all be pretty seedy actually - other than those that are driving of course ;)

A BBQ is JUST what you'd need for a hangover :)

Speak for yourself, Leon.

I'm seedy, and have never been described as pretty. :)

Here's one - I have a 1.3megapixel camera on my phone - will this take as good a shot as the D200? :P (just kidding)

Thanks again for the welcome everyone!
