Need help making large picture frames

After coming home happily from last Saturday's workshop with my big print and panorama, now I need to get a house (frame) for them to live in.

Where are the best places to get these framing materials for my panorama? It is roughly 150cm x 42cm dimension. The other one is an A3 sized print.

I think I've seen A3 premade frames around out there, about $30 - $50 range for one made up already. Dunno if will this be worth it?

For the large pano, I doubt I can get a frame anywhere unless I order it to be done which is expensive way to take. So I may decide to make the frame myself (probabbly for both if comes out very cheap).

Any experienced framers here that is kind enough to shine me a light? :D

Thanks in advance,

Hey Yi-P.
Head into Bunnings and look in the mouldings section. There are heaps to choose from and if you ask the staff there they will direct you to a handout which covers off very well how you go about making one. The only tools you really need are a good mitre box and a saw.
Otherwise check out Crazy Clarke's and see if they have a cheapie picture in a frame that would fit. Mind you at 150 x 42 I recon you'll be pushing it up hill to find one.

If I remember correctly the mouldings from Bunnings aren't much cheaper than the mouldings you can get from a lot of framing shops.

And the Bunnings ones aren't stained/coated.

And you'll find a much bigger range at a frame shop.

That said, these a few cheap framing tools at Bunning which might be worth looking at.

Thanks guys,

Apart from Bunnings, any other places which I can look at?

Do you know any actual framers shop around with good prices? BTW, Should I add a glass on top of my print? If yes, its gonna be a big piece of glass to get
Any alternatives to heavy glass on top of it?
