Pentax ist ds Cards

Newer members often state that they think their question is too basic, or stupid, or whatever, to be posted. Pentax ist ds Cards

Hi,
Does anyone know if the
Pentax ist ds 6.1 meg Digital SLR will be able to see a 4 Gig sd card ?
Noticed these cards are very cheap now !
I know the camera sees a 2 gig card !

Yes the 4Gb card can be used [ my DS runs version 2.00 firmware so not sure if the previous version work but its a free download on the pentax site] but the problem is you cannot format the card in the camera.

I did before i used it and the card would not work at all until i formatted it in the PC then put back into the camera.

i have put several thousand pics through the 4Gb Transend SD card so far with no problems.
