At a very uneducated guess, No.

I'd be very surprised if they are compatible.

ditto to that.

if you want a battery grip, probably best of to save your pennies and get a d200 or d2x/s ;)

Given that the D80 is smaller than the D70/s, I'd say no.

That said, provided the D50 sports the right connections (which it probably won't), the D80 grip would be more likely to work with that camera since the two are about the same size.

from what i have read the d80 is using the d50 chassis, not the d70.

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

Even tho if the battery grip is able to slide into the battery doors of the camera, it will not be able to operate.

From my rough guess, the D80 grip should have at least a shutter release button and possibly the command dials on the vertical stance.

All these require communication from the grip to the camera body which is done via a set of contact pins (something like the D200's grip), which has few pins for power circuit and comm signal circuit for the grip to talk to the camera for responses.
Im not sure how the D80 grip will be shaped, but even tho it can slide into a D50 body (which is most possibly) but tho it will not completely fit in as it has the pins in its way or some sort of lock that prevents this from happening.
