I got the Kenko Pro300DG 1.4xTC, works well with the 300 f4, as well as the 70-200.

I have yet to try with the 2x TC, but my guess it should work as long as your rear element is not 'sticking out' from the lens mount. Most telephoto has the rear element deep inside from the lens mount, such as the 300 f4.

Pa,

from memory, you don't have the AFS version, correct? So not sure if the kenko TC will work for you. You f4 lens will then become an f8 lens, so only to be used in bright conditions or on a tripod. You will lose auto-focus. You may be better off getting the 1.4. Sure you won't get the same reach but you will only lose one stop and you should still have AF.

Decisions, decisions, .....

Cheers,

André

I recently bought a Kenko Pro 300 DG 2x and it works a treat with most of my lenses, especially with the Nikkor 80-200 2.8. Auto-focus is not a problem.
