Hi all,

I have had my D70 since Christmas (Chrissie present to myself!) and have been on the internet learning about this camera. Holly Smoke! There is a lot to learn! And just as many conflicting reviews. I have been a member of this site for about three weeks and have learnt heaps. One thing I am totally stumped with is how to post pictures on this site. I would like to post a few up for criticism and others that I just think would be great for people to look at. I joined PixPost but I would be dammed if I knew how to use that site,it does not seem to have any instructions with itfor the dummies [me] For those that know the best way and the simplest, please give me your thoughts. And could you please tell me what the size limitations are and the best way to convert them to a useable size from raw. I don’t have paintshop thank God. Also been an old Minolta SRT101 user, I have a 50 mm lenses which I miss greatly. The camera came with a kit lenses and telephoto. So I am seeking a 50/1.8 lenses. And what price should I pay for this and where? Hope I haven’t asked too much, looking forward to your replies.

Loz - firstly welcome to the forum.

I know where you are coming from on the posting directly into a forum thread from PixSpot. I actually did a code search on a thread to find the insertion code. At this time I don’t know if this code is the same for everyone.

The other way is to do a url link of your page directly to PixSpot. Kristine, who kindly hosts the PixSpot site, is working on a direct link into the forum so very shortly it should be easy even for newbies, and me.

Hi Loz, welcome.

For a 50 1.8 you should pay around $200. I don't know if member here Birddog114 carries them.

Pixspot is getting some hiccups ironed out so I will not bother to run through placing an image there in case it changes. Maybe readdress that Monday or Tuesday.

To insert a picture here (assuming you are a windows user)

a) go to the website where the picture is stored and get the copy of the picture at the size you would like it displayed in this forum. I would suggest somewhere between 320x240 pixels to 800x600 pixels. Right click on the picture, bring up properties and then right click copy to copy the url. Here is an example of a url http://www.pixspot.com/albums/userpics/Breakfast.jpg

b) Go to D70 Users, either reply to or start a message and you will be typing in a little white box. About 1 cm above is a little row of buttons. The one second from the right is labelled Img (for image). Where you want the photo press the img button, then right click and paste the url, the click img button again.

c) finish message and press submit and voila, your img will appear

Rather than wrapping the URL in url tags it should be wrapped in img tags ie highlight the url and click the Img button rather than the URL button.

Welcome Loz! Hope to see you at some of the meets. Nice pic! And yes...be a pest! But watch out for the D70 Forum exterminaters!
By the way...if you make your pics display too wide then it forces the text of those who reply to scroll larger than the page.
