Filter sizes?

Ok, I'm looking into buying an infrared filter to dable in some infrared work and long exposures in daylight b&w's. At the moment, I'm set on buying this filter from ebay, but it says it's for 57mm lenses, whereas of the four lenses I have 2 are 49mm and 2 are 55mm..

What I'm wondering is if there's some sort of converter that I can get so I can use the big 57mm filter on my lenses?

Thanks for any help.

You're looking for something like this, they are called step-up/step down rings.

Edit - Just noticed rooboy's post with a link to the one of the sizes you're looking for.

Note that you can get those at your local camera shop, if you have one. I know that here in Newcastle, I just got a 62-67 step up ring for $11. Pretty much the same as what you would pay for it on ebay by the time you pay for postage.

that way, you can always try it on your lens and filter when you are in the shop.

Cheers,

André
