D80 Firmware upgrade

D80 Firmware upgrade

Postby dafris on Thu Apr 26, 2007 12:06 am

Hi, I think I have decided on the Nikon D80 'enthusiast kit'. I have read a few threads here that speak of the D80 firmware upgrade. If I buy this camera now (thinking of HK supplies off ebay) will I still need to do this upgrade. Can anyone comment please - again this is all new to me. Cheers, David PS. Has there been only one firmware upgrade for the D80?

The firmware will either be up-to-date in a new camera or be a previous version. To update firmware is a simple matter of downloading from the web and then installing on the camera - full and explicit instructions can be found on Nikon websites :) It’s not hard to do :)

Alternatively, stick around for a while, read the FAQ, make a few contributions to the forum - and then buy the D80 through here (at a better price that the HK Supplies ebay shop).

Someone more versed in this spiel might be better able to explain it better than I, but check out the FAQ :)

I've done the upgrade. Takes about 5 minutes. Can't say I've noticed any difference, but an upgrade is an upgrade.
