Battery Life in the cold??

Buying a d70 soon, and wondering about the battery. All reports indicate that the life of the battery is pretty amazing. I intend to also use my camera in colder climates (alpine and su-alpine areas).
How much does this effect the battery life?

Yes, but it's common to all battery types, so that's no reason NOT to choose a D70 over the others.
It does slow camera response somewhat - from the usual lightning fast to Canon-like.

Rahudman,
Battery life is not reduced by cold. It is the discharge rate that is reduced. Grab a couple of spares to keep warm in your pocket and rotate the batteries out of the camera as their performance drops.
Cheers

Exactly, if you're in the cold, that's the problem but I don't see it as drama!

BTW, if there is ever a need to store a LIon battery for an extended period, 40% charge and slip it into the fridge in a lock tight bag. If going overseas for a couple of months, the car's battery will thank you if you slip it into the fridge also - just make sure it does not freeze!
Cheers

Cheers guys,
Help is much appreciate. Don't worry still got the D70 in my sights! Just a matter of getting the cash together.
Do they make different types of d70 batteries? For different conditions? Or just the one standard type?
Thanks....
