Hi guys/girls,

I've noticed that most people with a D70, seem to shoot using Apature mode (during the day, anyway).

I was wondering why they do this, over say auto? What are the advtanges of controlling apature on every shot? Is it as simple an explanation as I think.... to be able to control the depth of field on every shot?

Cheers,
Tommo.

Tommo,

That is one reason. The camera has no ability to determine how much depth of field is required for a given shot. That is where the other program modes come into play. Another is to use the lens in its sweet zone. Probably many more.

Cheers

Matt

Tommo,

have you had a read through our exposure tutorial? Check the link on the main page of the forum.

That will give you some basics from which to start.

Thanks for your help.

I've got the Peter iNova book, but it doesn't really explain it enough for me to have an understanding of the process, and how to apply it to my images..
