If these lenses are similar price which one would you chooseHi
I have seen Kit lens (18-70 AFS 3.5-4.5) and Tamron SP 28-75 XR LD Di f2.8 at very similar price, mint cond.Which one would you choose for everyday walkaround (mostly on the camera) lens. The first one has Nikkor name, and the second doesn't. Do you use the wide end of the kit lens alot or not. Thank for your input. Hien
Re: If these lenses are similar price which one would you ch
The Tamron is not as wide at the wide end, but has a pretty good reputation, and constant f/2.8 is nice. I use the 24-120 VR as my walkaround lens, and I don't miss the 18-24 I'd get with the kit lens (then again, I have the Sigma 12-24 for the wide stuff). 24-28 mm isn't that much more, but then again 18-28 is getting quite a long way... tough call IMO, and probably depends on your shooting habits and/or potential future purchases!
Thank a lot for your input, I lean toward the Tamron, both are around $350 mark mint condition, only use a few time( according to the its owner) The Tamron come with box all original packing, manual....
Before I planned the kit lens 18-70 and I will get a used 80-200 that will cover nearly all my need, but now a little different..I do not have the wide end but I have constant 2.8, any way it will do for me. Thank Hien
spada,
You'll enjoy the Tamron 28-75, it's not the top lens in the zoom range but it serves you well on a limited budget. I have one and use it as sample for comparision. Birddog114
