The bubble level spirit have been ordered for members in the past and I'm on ordering few of them, due to the demand is not great, I have to combine with other parts from suppliers, price is around AU$50.00 including GST and shipping from the US.

I have two members put them in back-order with me so I wait till I get enough quantity (10) to get them over.

Hi shockadelica

I recently purchased one from Photocontinental here in Brisbane
They had a few in stock
They are expensive little buggers
I didn't know that Birddog could get them... (his prices are better)
I have not played around with it much, but have some holidays coming up and hope to get my mind in pano mode....

Cheers
Gecko

They're actually quite cool the little things.

I'd buy one if I had a use for one (not like that mentality ever stops me from buying all sorts of random junk).

They have them ( one ) at Camera Exchange in Melbourne, for approx. $60.00.
The salesman says they don't sell, and he suggests I go to Bunnings to buy a cheapie that will do the same job !!!

I always TRUST a salesman !!!???!!!

Yogi.

Typically, you need to have made around 30 posts, have posted at least one image, and you must have your location in your profile. We have some discretion in this, but be aware that attendance at a minimeet (or any other function) counts as about 10 posts; the point here is that we're a community, helping one another with somethiung that we all enjoy.

Hence, 30 junk posts will be as useful as 0 proper postings (we can tell) whereas simply joining in and having fun will get you there in no time.

You realise, shockadelica, that because you're in Sydney you have the option of going to a minimeet and essentially buying one (provided Birddog has stock) that way.

At a minimeet?

At one of our shoots?

Once you've met a few of us, we sometimes go places and invite others along just for the fun of it. Shoot the moon. A wedding, or a lion at the zoo.

Or a couple of party-goers at a pub in Wooloomooloo. :)

There have to be a lot of spirit levels around for really cheap prices, <$3. The only trick would be fabricating a little strip to fit into the hot shoe to hold it to the camera. I have one around here somewhere that is about 30mm round like a compass that shows tilt in both directions at once. Now, if I can just find it. It's just when you label something as a specialty item that the price skyrockets.

The one people are talking is the one you can mount it on any hotshoe of the camera in horizontal or vertical.
Hardware store have lot of size and style of the spirit levels but could not do it properly on the top of the camera, couple members in Sydney got them from Bunnings or BBC hardware store tried to modify it but it doesn't hold up the purpose which we want.
Yes, I knew, it looks simple to manufacture but you spent few grants for photography stuff and lenses, US$20 or US$30.00 for each of them does not do the damages to your wallet

Things aren't always as simple as they seem, are they, Birddog?!
Point well taken.

Ex UK seller for AUD$22.40 delivered.

Looks like any other hotshoe spirit level... especially the ones that Photo Continental sell for $60.
I did the exact same thing, so did a mate. Under $25 delivered from a UK seller off ebay.
