autofocus subject area set to the right

Hello!
Please help...when the auto focus area on my D70 is set to dynamic or single the little focus bracket on the right is highlighted or bracketed. So its always something to the right hand side that the camera focuses on. Do you know how I can re-set this…its rather annoying!!!!

Press the multi button (the one on the right on the back about an inch across) and you can choose between any sensor

Also make sure the lock button is in the up position first (the slider to the right of the viewscreen with an L on it) - I spent 45 minutes trying to resolve this very same problem and that was the cause

The multiselector button sometimes goes to sleep, too. So you may have to also press the shutter button half way down and then press the multiselector to change the focus area. This one had me going for a litte while too.
