Newbie question where is the Serial Number

Newer members often state that they think their question is too basic, or stupid, or whatever, to be posted. Nothing could be further further from the truth in any section at DSLRUsers.com, but especially here. Don't feel intimidated. The only stupid question is the one that remains unasked. Postby gMaster on Thu Jun 30, 2005 5:01 pm

Hi
First post here, got a D70s 1.5 weeks ago, when i try to download the NikonView software, it ask me for camera serial number.

I just can't find that number anywhere on my camera or receipt. Any ideas where this number is?

Thanks

The serial should be printed on the bottom of the camera near the battery compartment. It can be hard to read.

There should have been a yellow slip of paper in the box - the warranty slip.
Nikon logo in the top-left corner... serial number just underneath it...
Cheers, John

Don't have to be a real serial number - if it's from Nikon Asia's website, just enter 7000000 (seven digits, starting with 7). Likewise the email address, I've traditionally entered me@here.com.
