SB800 flash techniqueHi,
Have just been out on my first trip for work using the D70s and the SB800 flash. I take a lot of photos of groups of students, as I work for the Education Department. One thing I haven't worked out yet is the best technique to get a balanced flash when you have a row of students in the photograph. For example, often I have a group of four or five students using computers (in a parallel line away from the camera). But the problem with using the flash (TTL BL) is that the student closest to the camera is very bright and the one furthest from the camera/flash is a bit dark. Are there any tricks/tips to get around this? Or do you have to resolve the problem when you get to process it in Photoshop? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you, Adam.
A good technique is to bounce the flash off a ceiling or wall to have a diffused and less harsh light... Photoshop should be used as a last resort for lighting, as its always preferable to get a good shot to save on PP times.

You could always use the wireless flash method by utilising another flash or two to cover those areas that would normally be dark
