Thinking of getting some filters to protect my lenses. When using a UV or skylight filter, does the filter cause any degradation in the quality of the image?

I haven't used them before, but i suspect photoshop can do what most filters do...

Every time you increase the number of glass elements and air pockets you will lose some image quality. However, it is still highly recommended that you use a filter to protect your lens. Take it off for studio or indoor work.
