recommending a tripod

Newer members often state that they think their question is too basic, or stupid, or whatever, to be posted. Nothing could be further further from the truth in any section at DSLRUsers.com, but especially here. Don't feel intimidated. The only stupid question is the one that remains unasked. We were all beginners at one stage, and even the most experienced amongst us will admit to learning new stuff on a daily basis. Ask away! Please also refer to the forum rules and the portal page

Rek13S,
you better tell us what your budget is, because very soon you're going to be innundated with responses telling you to buy a Gitzo for around $1000.

buy mine ...
just kidding or perhaps not.

I've got a Manfrotto 190D plus a 141RC three way head.
It is big, weighty (aluminium) and sturdy.
I paid some $250 for the set.

I'd also suggest you do a search on the words tripod and head and you'll find LOT'S already on this topic. Prices vary greatly. Easy to spend up to $2000  , but you get what you pay for. A visit to a mini meet might be a good idea since you can play with the gear to see what it's like (warning visiting can damage you bank balance  :lol:PS Please add your location to your profile. It helps with questions like these (eg mini meets happen most frequently in Sydney)
