Photoshop - 8-bit modeOK... Dunno what I'm missing, but something strange is happening in PS...
I've done quite a bit of work on an image in PS using a couple of layers. I've saved it as a PSD file... I then flattened the image, resized it for the web, applied sharpening, but it won't let me set the mode to be 8-bit, so I can't save it as a JPG... What totally obvious thing am I missing??? Cheers, John

It's not in some strange colour mode is it - eg if it's multi channel you can't change to 8 bit

Nope... RGB color
the 8-bit mode option is greyed out and the 32-bit is available... I can probably save it with Save for Web, but I'm just curious what I've done... this is the first time I've used layers for a while, so it's probably something to do with that... Cheers, John
