Hi all,
I was wondering if members here can recommend some locations to take good portraits.

I was thinking
1. Botanicals Gardens
2. Hyde Park
3. Darling Harbour

I know there are gems out there so if you have any it would be appreciated

I was thinking of posting this question as well - I'm coming to Sydney in a couple of weeks and would love some location ideas.

This depends on how much you want to lug your gear around, but I can strongly recommend MANY points along the Spit Bridge to Manly coastal walk and coming into the Manly end...VERY scenic. Enjoy!

In principle, you can take a portrait anywhere... :-)

But if you want the location to feature as well, then you might want to try the following:
Mrs. Macquarie's Chair
- You can get both the Opera House and the Bridge in the background.
- shots against the water of Farm Cove
- shots with Fort Denison in the background
The Rocks
- old buildings
- narrow alleyways
- Art Galleries
Observatory Hill
- a bandstand
- bridge in background
- observatory

Some ideas for you...

I personally like the rocks as you get access to lots of cool walls/passages with an old feel to them which looks good on black and white.
